BABINGTON
We approached the interior design of Babington House by blending the character of its Georgian heritage with a relaxed, contemporary sensibility. Our aim was to preserve the building’s original architectural features while layering them with a curated mix of vintage finds, bespoke furniture, and modern details to evoke the warmth of a lived-in country home rather than a formal hotel. We used natural materials and rich textures, including linen, velvet, painted wood, and stone; complemented by a muted palette of greens, greys, and creams inspired by the surrounding Somerset landscape. Patterned fabrics, wallpapers, and eclectic antiques add depth and individuality, while roll-top baths, deep sofas, and open fireplaces ensure comfort and conviviality. The result is a space that feels elegant yet informal, rooted in history yet effortlessly modern; a true expression of our “home, but nicer” philosophy.
